So I've got the survival thing down pat. I think I may actually be able to keep myself alive for an extended period of time, not to mention clean because some wonderful God-like being loves me and decided I deserved running water.

And I know things have been crazy lately, so I've got this wooden plank here just in case the walls come crashing in on us because I said this and I need to knock on wood, but...

I'm kind of bored.

Um, Ace, was it? You said you wanted to share stories with your brothers. You still up for that? I can hunt around and see if we can find some s'more fixins, make a campfire, we could make an evening out of it.

Ah, crap. N-Now...just hold on a second! [Nervous laughter. He's rubbing the back of his neck-- oh man. What to say? He didn't expect that reaction. She seemed to have it rough from what he gathered speaking with her before. Who was he to poke holes in her reality? For all he knew Discedo was far weirder than he assumed.]

Maybe they just...based a movie on the real thing, huh? That's...that's possible! [He was no psychologist, but was playing into a supposed delusion healthy? Ah, screw it. It's not his job to make that decision.] Yeah. I bet that's what they did.

Are you from my future? Because there's no way Batman would approve of a movie being made of him.

Future? Well... [Guess that's possible. Those Federico and Altair guys were supposedly from the past. Or maybe he was from her past? This is too much for him to mentally work out right now.] Ah, maybe? And after some of the movies I've seen I wouldn't blame him.

But they've got action figures of him...and I'm pretty sure they still make underwear with his face on them. [Enjoy that imagery.]

[ PHEW. So glad they got that sorted out. ] I mean, he's so secretive, he'd probably have some plan to cut the funding and make the whole thing disappear before it even got off the ground. You know he actively hides from the media?

I'd much rather have underwear with Robin on it.

Could be retired where I'm from; living it up in some backwards country in the middle of nowhere with that old guy. Who's...probably still old. Maybe agreed to movie rights to raise money for charity. That's all very Batman-ish, right?

[This man will totally deny the fact that he used to wear Batman undies when he was a kid. Shhhh.] That guy? Doesn't he fight crime in his underwear?

I dunno, I feel like even when he's 90 Batman will still be Batman. Maybe just directing things from the sideline, I just... can't imagine him retiring.

Well yeah, the Robin who arrested my Dad did. The guy who was-- is Robin now, though, he wears pants.

[ Happy blush... ]

And he's really cute.

Well, retired and directing things from the sidelines? Sure someone's still got him on speed dial. [Then again he can't imagine Batman playing bingo either.]

It's gotta suck to be Robin. You get the dorkier costume and have a tendency to die or be replaced. Or however that works. Doesn't Batman go through a few Robins per year? There is no shortage of boys willing to wear tights in Gotham.

[Ah-ha! He heard that swoon in her voice.]

Oh- someone's gotta crush. So how much fan mail do you send the guy?

[ Her smile disappears at the mention of Robins dying or people replaced. ] That's not funny. You shouldn't joke about things like that.

Buuuut I may or may not be dating him.

Sorry, sorry... [Forgot this was...real...ish.] That's why it sucks to be Robin. Bad luck practically comes with the name. I can relate. [It was harmless but he smiles at the next part.]

Well. [Chuckles.] Guess that beats swooning at him from afar. So how did you manage to 'date or not date' him?

We met through my dad. The one good thing he did for me in his life. We're on a strict "mask on" basis, though.

[ At least they were... Hee hee. ]

['Mask on'? Should he ask?] ...Do I want to know what that means?

Mostly it means he knows my name, but I don't know his.
